Texture
When you touch something, you feel its texture. It is what the surface of something is like. Sometimes a surface actually feels like something and it is described as tactile. Sometimes artists create an illusion of something and this is called visual.
It doesn't matter whether you are interested in how an object feels to touch or how an image looks like it feels, texture helps make a piece of art interesting.
